Review HPI Savage 25One of the newer additions to the HPI line of 1/ 8 Savage Nitro Monster Trucks is the HPI Savage 25.
A 49T spur gear and larger clutch bell (15T) are standard equipment. A gearing set up like that gives you awesome top speed without sacrificing off the line punch. It also comes with an 18T clutch bell for even more high speed fun. Radio gear included is a 3 channel TF-4 with high torque steering servo. Another nice touch? The fuel tank has a rear fuel pick up. That keeps the speed coming even during hard acceleration.
Throw in some 20% fuel, a fuel bottle, a glow ignitor and 8-AA batts for the transmitter plus 4 AA batts for the receiver pack and its time to hit the road running. Off to see how much dust you can raise! One more comment about the engine - the .25 has more power than the .21. Outta the box you should be able to hit 40+ mph - no sweat. With this much power to unleash remember to tighten the wheel nuts. (I know I know you do that. Just a reminder.) Step up to either a Motor Saver or HPI High Performance air filter and its like throwing a match in your fuel tank. Not only will you better protect your engine, youll get better performance too. In other words more speed on the cheap. But speed isn't all she's got. When off road bashing the Savage 25 will climb hill and dale like an obedient Mt. Everest Sherpa. Getting the sturdy Savage 25 RTR is a great way for anyone looking to become part of the Savage Nation - without having to build it themselves. Highly recommended. By just about everybody! In fact the HPI Savage 25 may just be "the single best reason for the invention of nitro!"
